TELL US ABOUT YOUR GREYT BUSINESS!
The United Way of Bruce Grey is a community-based autonomous organization which is dedicated to moving people from poverty to possibility, building strong, inclusive communities and helping children be all that they can be. We are committed to serving our vulnerable populations through our front-line programs (Utility Assistance, Financial Literacy and Backpack Program) and by supporting like-minded local agencies which have specialized expertise with seniors, the hungry and the homeless, at risk youth, support for abused women, mental health support and more. By combining strengths, our goal is to create opportunities for a better life for everyone throughout Bruce and Grey Counties.
The Hope for Our Kids Fund supports over 800 children throughout Bruce and Grey Counties who have been affected by poverty. The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have had a huge economical effect on low-income families and they are struggling more than ever.
WHY DO YOU LOVE GREY COUNTY?
I love Grey County for all its nature and the trails and the ability to take just a few steps and you are truly outdoors in the trees. Weather permitting, and rarely is the weather SO bad you can’t be outside just a little. Being outside is my favourite place to be, on a rail trail, listening to the birds. There is also so much food! Cafés and bakeries in small towns and in large towns. You can literally eat from one end of the county to the other in local small shops.
A GREYT FACT ABOUT FRANCESCA
On any given day you can find Francesca wandering the trails or holding ‘court’ in a coffee shop patio checking in with friends from all the walks of life.
